The theme and general topic this year is “Ignatian Prayer: Finding God in All Things,” an important aspect of Ignatian Spirituality. The occasion for this annual Novena, a period of nine days of prayer, is the anniversary of the canonizations of Saints Ignatius of Loyola and Francis Xavier, the first the leading Founder of the Society of Jesus, and the second its greatest missionary. The Jesuit Order of Priests, Brothers, and Scholastics serve Gesu Parish, John Carroll University, Saint Ignatius High School, Walsh Jesuit High School, and the Jesuit Retreat House. Those who attend the Novena of Grace are encouraged to come with their own special intentions and needs, as well as to pray for those of the others who are present.
