The Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits) has published a list of every Jesuit who worked in the Midwest Province, living and deceased, who has had credible sexual abuse allegations against them from 1955 to the present.  There were no credible allegations against any Jesuit while serving at Gesu Parish.  Two of the Jesuits on the list, James Kurtz and Robert Broome, served at Gesu for a time, but the allegations against them were from other institutions in the Province.

The Jesuit Provincial, Fr. Brian Paulson, SJ, has made a statement regarding the publication of the names of these Jesuits. If you would like to read his statement and see the complete list of names as well as more information about the names that are listed, I refer you to the Midwest Jesuit Province Website at the following link, https://jesuitsmidwest.org.

If you or someone you know has been abused by a Jesuit, you are urged to contact the appropriate law enforcement or child-protection agency in the location in which the incident took place.

You are further encouraged to advise the Jesuits by calling Ms. Marjorie O’Dea, the Province Director of the Office of Safe Environment, at 773-975-6876 or by email at UMISafeMinistry@Jesuits.org or by mail at the USA Midwest Province, 1010 North Hooker Street, Chicago, IL  60642.

If you have further questions, please contact Fr. Glen Chun, SJ, at 773-975-6883 or UMINamesInquiry@jesuits.org.
