The Fund for Gesu was established six years ago to raise funds to preserve our beautiful church. Your generous contributions to this fund have allowed us to complete necessary repairs and enhancements. The most recent efforts include the shrine to Saint Ann, increased handicapped accessible seating, a new handicap accessible bathroom on the lower level, new carpeting in the cry room, and updates to our public restrooms. All these improvements have refreshed and enhanced our worship and community space.
The next phase of church improvements will be to replace our kneelers. The kneelers are used at Mass by thousands of parishioners and school children every week. They are original to the church, are heavy and the rubber stoppers have worn away. Some are even beyond repair. The new kneelers will be made of wood, stained to match the pews. They will have rubber stoppers that will make the raising and lowering of them much quieter. The new kneelers will be shorter and much lighter than the existing ones. You can see a sample of the new kneelers in the fourth pew off the main aisle on the St. Joseph side. The hope is to have them installed in time for our Easter celebration.
Thank you to all who have contributed to The Fund for Gesu over the years. These vital projects would not have been possible without your generosity. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to The Fund for Gesu so that we may continue the work of preserving and restoring our church building for future generations.
