It is with joyful gratitude that we celebrate Sr. Kathleen Flannery’s Golden Jubilee. She responded to God’s call to share in God’s overflowing love when she entered the Ursuline Congregation in 1966. Little did she know the many ways God would continue to ask her to say yes to that call. And each time she responded with a resounding yes!

Sr. Kathleen began her ministry as a teacher at St. Clare’s School in Lyndhurst (1969 -1980), followed by St. Mary Magdalene School in Willowick (1980-1985). She served as a Pastoral Associate at St. Noel in Willoughby Hills (1980-1990) followed by 21 years at Holy Cross, now known as Our Lady of the Lake in Euclid  (1990-2011). While Sr. Kathleen was Pastoral Associate at parishes, she also was co-ordinator for RCIA for the Office for Pastoral Liturgy for the Diocese of Cleveland (1987-1994).  It should not surprise you to note that some years she was ministering in more than one location!

In 2011 we were blessed to have Sr. Kathleen join our Parish Staff at Gesu. While her official title here is Parish Life Director and Liturgist, you will find Sr. Kathleen serving any need that arises. She treasures being of assistance with Pastoral Care, Liturgy, RCIA, Faith Formation, Sacramental Preparation, and Administration. Most of all she delights in being present to serve each of you. Her gentle way and warm smile is a gift to all of us at Gesu.

Please join us as a parish community as we celebrate her Golden Jubilee on Sunday, August 27 at the 11:30 am Mass. A reception will follow in McAuley Hall.
