Fair Trade Festival

Red Cross Blood Drive
The Gesu Red Cross Team invites parishioners to share in corporal works of mercy by donating blood through the American Red Cross. Gesu has established a schedule of six Red Cross Blood Drives a year so parishioners may donate blood at Gesu every time they are eligible to do so – every 56 days. Other Gesu ministries are invited to “sponsor” individual drives by volunteering to make telephone calls, bake cookies and recruit members, supporters, parents and friends to give blood. Ronald McDonald House

Sagrada Familia Friendship Meals
Meals are held three times a year on the second Saturday of the month at La Sagrada Familia Parish on the West Side of Cleveland. During these meals we prepare and serve food to 150-200 individuals from the surrounding community who are in a variety of situations of need. We also strive to provide a sense of friendship and community. Additionally, we host monthly meals with the Latina Project, which provides meals and fellowship for women and their children in situations of need. For more information, email Cathy Markiewicz.
This group plans the annual parish day of service, typically held on the first Saturday in December. Service Day provides an opportunity for parishioners to volunteer at 50+ northeast Ohio organizations, followed by an evening Mass and community-wide dinner. St. Patrick’s Hunger Center
On Tuesday evening every four to six weeks, volunteers cook and serve dinner at St. Pat’s Hunger Center. For more information, email Marty Kilfoyle.
St. Vincent de Paul Society
Members of this society provide financial assistance to those in need who live within the Gesu Parish boundaries. Volunteers also help organize and pass out food and clothing at the Ozanam Center at St. Philomena Church. For more information, email Pat Hawkins.
Sleeping Bag Ministry
The Sleeping Bag Ministry includes women of diverse faiths who meet Wednesday mornings to make sleeping bags for homeless men and also for women and children at the West Side Catholic Shelter. For more information, call Eileen Beegle at (216) 932-4549.
